Meet Tom Blight, PhD – Founder & Lead Consultant

Tom Blight founded Simstream in 2017 after a decade working at the intersection of building physics research and large-scale engineering practice. With a PhD from the University of Bath and several years at BuroHappold Engineering, his work spans occupant comfort, energy performance, and BIM workflows — grounded in academic rigour and sharpened by complex, real-world projects.​

Since establishing Simstream BV in the Netherlands, Tom has led building physics consultancy on projects across Europe and in the Middle East. He works directly with architects, engineers, and developers to translate simulation insights into decisions that improve performance, reduce energy use, and create better spaces for the people who use them.
